Bookworm Gardens is an iconic location. Children know it, and adults enjoy the trip back to their childhood when they visit. We were approached with an idea: create a yurt structure for outdoor early learning experiences, and design a new unique restroom building adjacent to the yurt that could stand on it’s own in this incredible storybook themed park. Nothing in this project was off-the-shelf. Everything was unique. Crafting a solution that would be acceptable to local officials without watering down the concept was difficult, and the results are whimsical and delightful (as well as accessible and functional)!
